The ArchSoc committee is running a book sale outside of HUMN 112 this week between 10am and 1pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The proceeds from this book sale will be donated to the James Moore Memorial Scholarship. As you might already know, James’ life was tragically cut short in a car crash late last year. Our members might remember James from the Vertebrate Palaeontology Field Schools and/or the Digger’s Shield Cricket Match. James was an active member of the Flinders University Palaeontology Society and was instrumental in reinstating the Digger’s Shield. He will be sorely missed. We hope to honour James by presenting a cheque to the Palaeontology Society for the scholarship at this Saturday’s cricket match. Please come out and support this initiative by buying some books this week. Additionally, if you have some old books that you would like to donate for us to sell, please bring them down to the stall this week.
If you’d still like to support the James Moore Memorial Scholarship but can’t make it to the book sale, you may donate using a credit card here. You will also find some additional information about James and the scholarship by visiting that link.
