Library Code of Conduct

Use of library resources

In accessing the ArcHSoc library resources you agree to:

· Returning items at the end of the loan period.

· Communicating with Head Librarian in the case of non-returned, lost or damaged items.

· Paying fees for non-returned, lost or damaged items.

Borrowing items

ArcHSoc members are able to borrow up to 3 items at one time.

The standard loan period is 14 days, unless otherwise negotiated. If at the end of the 14-day period you would like to extend the loan, you are able to if no other member has requested the item.

Contact the Head Librarian at flindersarchsoc.library@gmail.com to request an item from the catalogue.

Collection and return of items

The Librarian will organise a time for collection of the requested item. Your 14-day loan period will begin on the day you receive the item.

3 days prior to the end of your loan period, you will be sent a courtesy email. The email will state if the loan period is eligible to be extended.

In the case of a non-extendable loan or if you do not wish to extend the loan period, item return will be organised via email with the Head Librarian.

Items may be returned at any time prior to the end of the loan period.

Failure to return items

An item will be deemed lost if it is more than 14 days overdue.*

If you are unable to return an item for any reason, including if the item is lost or damaged, you will be required to pay a fee equivalent to the items value.

A failure to pay a fee in a timely manner will result in a sanction being placed on your ArcHSoc membership.

To organise fee payment, please contact flindersarchsoc.library@gmail.com or flindersarchsoc@gmail.com.

Once fee payments are made for non-returned, lost or damaged items no refunds are available.

* If the organised return date is more than 10 days after the loan end date, it will not be considered lost.
